Sindhu Sangeeth Kumar

I am a Melbourne based contemporary artist whose work translates internal dialogue into visual form via painting.

I work intuitively, allowing various mediums, techniques and colours to record moments of reflection. Each artwork becomes a medium of expression where personal narratives dissolve into creative language.

Through the process of ideation, I investigate concepts related to relationships, social expectations and the nature of self identity.

My work invites viewers to resonate and spark a conversation about their own experiences around these themes.

The Flight of Prosperity

Oil painting of stretched canvas, 2026.

102 × 102 cm

$3850

My artwork called “the flight of prosperity” is about defying external expectations set upon us by the society and by ourselves. The painting represents challenging the narrative and being bold enough to follow one’s own path. Doing so, one can achieve prosperity by no longer placing importance on things that do not matter.

The anomaly are the main subjects of the painting: two flying flamingos on a chess board.

Each pawn in the game of chess has a movement pattern that must be followed as a rule. The flamingos who are flying their own way are not a pawn in this game and do not belong on the board.
