Stephen Walters

Stephen works in the contrasting photographic genres: serene, people-free landscapes and dynamic streetscapes focused on human figures.

Stephen captures images of the farmlands and gently rolling hills surrounding his home in Birregurra, nestled in the hinterland of Victoria’s Otway Ranges. He records how the land and human activities shape shifting patterns and forms, often using the soft light of early morning or late evening.

Stephen’s street photography employs diverse perspectives to construct compositions that emphasize the vitality and distinct presence of his subjects. This approach prompts viewers to consider themes of human purpose, movement, and identity within the context of the urban environment.

Stephen is the Social Media Coordinator of the Australian Association of Street Photographers – AASPi
