Michaelis Bayley Footwear

Digital Photography / Giclee Print, 45cm x 30cm, 2015.

$150

In late 2015, I spent a lot of time shooting in and around the abandoned Michaelis Bayley Footwear Factory, located at 2 Neilson Place Footscray. It was a large, two-storey building that had been arsoned, squatted in, and used to host at least one rave (which I attended). I was fascinated by the sheer chaos of the space; the building had developed such a wildness of character. It was demolished in 2018 to make way for a large apartment development.
