Joshua Sleep
Bringing a multidisciplinary approach, Joshua Sleep’s work often explores phenomenological ideas through the use of surrealist and absurd imagery. His pieces challenge the viewer’s assumptions and invite them to question their understanding of truth and what they understand about their own world. As he continues to evolve as an artist, he remains committed to pushing the boundaries of his understanding and knowledge, constantly reassessing his role as both the creator and as an observer.

“Scattered across urban environments, doors appear like ghosts—sealed, weathered, and strangely out of place. Where did they once lead? What lives passed through them? Hidden in alleys or embedded in abandoned buildings, these doors once served a purpose. Now, they stand as artefacts—silent witnesses to histories that have faded from view.
Attempts to fold them into the logic of gentrification only heighten their dissonance. Instead of vanishing, they linger—markers of a city's layered past. My work documents these forgotten thresholds, inviting viewers to question what lies behind them and what it means when access is lost. They are remnants but also quiet invitations to rediscover what we’ve locked away.”
