Mel Drummond is a Melbourne-based analog collage artist with over a decade of experience creating surrealist scenes that blend social commentary and humor. Using only found vintage books and magazines, Mel hand-cuts and assembles intricate, colourful paper compositions that explore societal themes with a playful, satirical edge.
Mel has shared her love for collage and craft through workshops and exhibitions in New Zealand and Australia. Her sold-out, solo exhibition Chump Chops was part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2018 and featured in The Age.

Peace is priceless

Paper collage, 18 cm x 28 cm unframed, 2025.

$150

Peek into the landscape of this wet city day, and you'll see remnants of protest posters and stickered-up road signs. 'Peace is priceless', is next to our walkman queen - a tiny but powerful reminder of the strong activism in the 80s against the nuclear arms race. In stark contrast, the red sign urging '...anyhow have a Winfield 25s' reminds us of when the ciggie giants could say whatever the hell they wanted.
