“Echoes of Mostar”
This series was photographed in Mostar, a city deeply marked by the Bosnian War and the divisions it left behind. Once a place of cultural and religious diversity, Mostar became a front line of conflict in the 1990s, where Catholic Croats and Muslim Bosniaks were violently divided. Today, those tensions still echo in the physical landscape.
The images focus on small, often overlooked details in the city—surfaces and structures that remain as quiet reminders of what happened. They aren’t official memorials, but ordinary parts of the urban environment that speak to the history without words. In capturing these scenes, I’m interested in how trauma and memory can persist through what’s left behind, and how a place continues to carry the weight of its past even as life moves on around it.
